A message from Merced (California) states that a two-days’ man-hunt in the mountains, in which an aeroplane horses, dogs and trackers collaborated, ended in the arrest of a Spaniard, Ygnacio Ayerza (51), who is charged with shooting dead his daughter, Theresa (18), also her fiance, Julian Galan (32). It is alleged that Ayerza and his wife were driving the couple to their wedding when Ayerza quarrelled with Galan, and shot him. Theresa was also shot dead by her father, who fied to the mountains. Pursuers surrounded him, closing in in response to signals from an aeroplane.
