GEORGE V. MEMORIAL.
APPEAL IN HAMILTON. OPENING OF LISTS. Lists have been opened in Hamilton in order to raise funds for the King George V. Memorial and the Mayor, Mr J. R. Fow, has circularised notices to the various firms and business premises in Hamilton appealing for contributions towards the cause. a The people of New Zealand are ask»"d to supplement the fund which has been commenced by the Government with a donation of £25,000. It is the intention of tlio Government to subsidise pound for pound all the moneys subscribed after the fund, inclusive of tho Government’s grant of £25,000, has reached £50,000.
Tn view of the deserving causes to which the money will be devoted the scheme should have the whole-heart-ed support of I lie people. Two funds, tho Mayor’s fund and the Waikato Times’ fund will be in operation until June 3. Donations to both these funds will be acknowledged through the Waikato Times. AUCKLAND FUND. (By Telegraph. — Preau Association.) AUCKLAND, Saturday. The Mayor’s fund in connection with the King George V’. Memorial now totals £ 10.600.
