Mr John Rorke, the British Broadcasting Corporation performer who interjected “Mrs Simpson” during a broadcast in which an allusion was made to “sex appeal,” is to lose five weeks’ salary in consequence. lie will not be heard again in wireless performances before St. Patrick’s Day.
“It was ‘Mrs Gibson’ I intended to say,” remarked Mr Rorke. “It is impossible to explain how 1 came to slip in “Simpson.”
“I shall take my punishment, which I consider most lenient, with resignation.”
Mr Rorke has been broadcasting for 13 years.
