TALLOW, HEMP AND FRUIT. # THE ENGLISH MARKETS. WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated February 20th, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London : Tallow: The market is very quiet; quotations are unchanged. Hemp: Manila: The market was quiet early this week but firmer at the dose. “K” grade for March-May shipments sold at £3l 10s. Sisal: The market is firmer. March-May shipments sold at £2B ss; July-September shipments, £2B 12s 6d. New Zealand "Rejected” offered at £23; “Common" £24 5s without finding buyers. Apples: There is steady trade at lower prices. Oregon Newtowns, 9s 9d to 12s 6d; Delicious, 10s to 11s 9d; Californian Newtowns, 10s 6d to 11s; British Columbian Newtowns. 9s to ils 6d; Jonathans, 8s to 11s 6,1. Pears: The demand is quieter and prices easier. Californian Winter Nelis, 14s to 15s.
