The Rotorua Bowling Club’s annual open pairs tournament was opened in ideal weather this morning with a full entry of 55 teams. Results of the first round of section play in which Waikato teams are engaged were:— Section B.—Takapuna, Carr and Butler, 25 beat Whitiora, Booth and Michell, 17. Section C.—St. Heliers, Watson and Price, 19 beat Putaruru, McCrea and Francis 15. Section D.—West End, Hopwood and Hardley 22 beat Huntly, Penman and Smith, 18; Whitiora, House and Davis 20 beat Epsom, Lamb and Fisher 12. CAMBRIDGE CLUB. (Special to Times.) CAMBRIDGE, Monday.
