BLOOD TRANSFUSION.

MAX BAER’S ACTION. SAVED LIFE OF FATHER. By giving a quart of blood in a transfusion operation at San Leandro, California, Max Baer, former world heavy-weight champion, has saved the life of his father, Jacob Baer. Jacob Baer was slowly growing weaker from loss of blood following a severe nasal haemorrhage which began during a baseball game and went on for three days. Max's mdther gave blood for three transfusions, but her husband was still in a serious condition when Max returned from his “come-back” tour. A fourth transfusion appeared to put Baer senior almost immediately on the road to recovery. The doctors credit Max with saving his father’s life. “I feel tine,” Max stated after the transfusion. , “I am going to regain the heavyweight champions’iip of the world.”
