BOY’S NEOK INJURED.

CAR RUNS INTO DITCH. A pupil of King's College, Jack Prosser, aged 15, of Shore Road, Remuera, Auckland, received neck injuries when the car by which he was being taken to the Waitomo Caves ran into a ditch near Hangatiki late on Saturday afternoon. Prosser was thrown forward, injuring his neck. He was taken to the Waikato Hospital in a St. John Ambulance, and his condition this afternoon is ••reported satisfactory. Prosser had been discharged from the Auckland Hospital three or four days previously, having recovered from a fractured neck. LITTLE GIRL’S ESCAPE. ROLLS BENEATH BUS. (Times Representative.) MORRINSVILLE, Sunday. Running out from behind a stationary vehicle in the Morrinsville main street this, morning, Peggy Hornblow, aged 10 years, was struck by the Te Aroha —Hamilton bus. The child was hit by the front mudguard and flung over the engine into the roadway from where she rolled under the bus. The driver of the bus, Mr W. Schildt, brought his vehicle to a standstill in half its own length with the rear wheel within six inches of the girl. Medical attention was summoned and, suffering from abrasions and shock, the child was later removed to her home where she is reported to be progressing favourably. KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR. AUCKLAND, Monday. Mr William La Dette (70), a resident of Otahuhu, was knocked down by a car on Saturday evening. He sustained a cut on the head and was rendered unconscious. He is now in hospital, his condition being reported as satisfactory. FALL THROUGH SKYLIGHT. AUCKLAND, Monday. Lois O'Quinn (7) climbed on the roof of an old timber shed and fell through a skylight to the floor below, about 25 feet. She suffered concussion, but her condition is reported as satisfactory. OYCLE RACE MISHAP. AUCKLAND, Monday. Mr Slater Cosgrave Hayes (30), while competing in a road cycle race on Saturday, collided with a motorcar on the Mount Wellington concrete highway. He was thrown heavily and suffered scalp wounds. His racing cycle was completely wrecked.
