FAMILY OF ISRAEL.
THE DIBPERBED TRIBES. At the weekly meeting of the local branch of the British-Israel Federation Mr A. N. Wakefield addressed members on the wanderings of the dispersed Northern Tribes of Israel through Europe. The speaker summarised the position of Britain and her possessions. Out of 13,500,000 square miles of British territory 750,000 square miles were small islands dotted throughout the world. New Zealand was not included as two small islands, nor was Great Britain herself. Apart from these facts, America and Japan were wfithin the family of Israel.
“Celts, Druids, Normans and other tribes are connected wfith the Saxons to form the dispersed tribes,” he said.
“The Celts and Bretons were hounded out of Britain and settled in Brittany, in France. This land was formerly known as Amorica. How near this name is to America to-day. The Normans occupied the northern coasts of France and regained Britain in 1066. In Belgium, France and Germany we still have these mixtures of peoples. Hence much political activity and trouble occur. Such is the foundation and problem of the Anglo-Israel peoples to-day,” concluded Mr Wakefield.
A lively discussion ensued and a vote of thanks to ie speaker brought the meeting to a close.
