VISIT TO NEWSTEAD.
HAMILTON MALE VOICE CHOIR. A concert was given by the Hamilton Male Voice 'Choir, supported by other performers, at Newstead. Those present spent an enjoyable evening. Under the conductorship of Mr 0. Jones, the choir rendered “ A Wet Sheet and a Flowing Sea,” “ Boys in Blue,” “ In Absence,” “ Simple Simon.” ** Comrades in Arms,” and “ Soldier’s Farewell.” The balance was well maintained. Other items were given toy Miss M. Forster, songs; Miss M. Prisk, elocutionary items; Mr Duff (tenor) and Mr Fricker (baritone), songs: Mr Emerson, concertina items; Mr Wheatley, humorous items. Altogether the evening proved very enjoyable. The proceeds were In aid of the Hamilton East Methodist Church fund. Rev. G. Brown suitably thanked the choir.
