INTER-ISLAND EIGHTSMOVE FOR ABOLITION. (By Tcleg-rnm.— Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH; Wednesday “It is nothing but a i'arce,” declared Mr W. G. Ataok, when the holding .of Hie inter-island eightoared race was discussed at a meeting of the executive of the Canterbury Rowing Association last evening. It was decided io press for the abolition of 'the race. it was decided to 'have, placed on the order paper for ihe annual meeting of delegates of -the New Zealand Association a remit to the effect that the race bo ’abolished as serving no purpose and as of no interest.
