AMBITIOUS SCHEME.

PACIFIC EXHIBITION. MANAWATU PROJECT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON X., Tuesday. An ambitious project for the organisation in Palmerston North of a South Pacific Exhibition similar to tile last big exhibition of that nature at Dunedin in 1925-26, was mooted at a meeting of the Manawatu Agricultural and Pastoral Association, the suggestion being that the event should take place in the autumn of 193'7. The general committee endorsed the proposal and the secretary was instructed to get in touch with organisations likely to he interested and report on the support likely to be accorded. Possibly the Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s Winter Show may be incorporated in the exhibition. it is understood the scheme will be advanced in general terms at a meeting of the Fifty Thousand Club this evening.
