CONGREGATIONAL STRIFE.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —I note premonitions of an effort,/to fan into a glow the embers of ancient ecclesiastical strife in local church affairs. Cannot reason he brought to bear to stifle the effort for the good of a common cause? Publicity for a commendable object is an excellent tiling, but congregational friction can scarcely toe dubbed commendable. A little spark can cause a. mighty conflagration, and its damaging effect is not confined to 'One congregation, parish or diocese, or even to one branch >of the churoh militant. “Behold how good a thing it is for brethren to dwell together In unity.” I sometimes think that the religion we all profess to accept, and which should toe the most unifying force on earth, is really the most devisive. Cannot congregations, if they must wash soiled linen, perform the operation within their own walls? ft would be more edifying.—l am, cto;, ZUMITE. Hamilton, August 5, 1935.
