SHEARERS’ WAGES.
SCALE FOR NEW SEASON. WELLINGTON, Friday. Based on the Government statistician’s index number for export, the prices of wool for the twelve months ended June 30, were 750, as against 1800 on June 30., 1928. J^|> The rates of pay for shearers f<s'r 1935-36 will toe: Hand-shearing, not less than 19s Gd per hundred with' rations; machine shearing, 19s 6d per hundred;. where shearers find for themselves, an extra 5s per hundred; pressers, £2 6s perweek or. is 4d per hour; other shed hands £2 Is per week,or is 2d per hour; cooks, £2 16s per week or 10s 104 per day.
