'United Pres* Assn.— vir-’i -»i 'v.r«f-vrtn LONDON, July 25. “ The Post Office Department shortly will introduce new telephone cables, which will carry 200 , conversations simultaneously," said Sir Macdonald Banks, Director-General of the Post He added that only two conversations were possible with the existing cables. The time was not distant, said Sir Macdonald, when tho householder would have a news tape in one corner of a room combined with a television set illustrating current happenings. Another ebrner W'quld contain a' radio telephone. All would be worked by the.same wire. Tho speaker also foreshadowed a Teduction in overseas telephone fates and a two days air mail to America.
