HAPPY GLEN MASSEY EVENING'. A very enjoyable comlng-of-age party was given by Mrs E. McConnell in honour of 'her .son Bert, at the residence of -her l-daughter, Mrs- J. Foster, -at Te Akatea, recently.

The evening was spent -in games, competitions, dancing, and the following items, which were greatly appreciated, were given. Solos, Miss M. Broc-kett, Miss Lees; pianoforto solos, M-es-dames McConnell, Biddi-ck and -Lees; violin -solos, B. McConnell; elocutionary items, Mr S. Sampson. During the evening the guest -of honour -was presented with the -customary key and musical honours were accorded him. Mrs -E. McConnell, wearing a gown -of -rose -satin beaute, and Mrs J. Foster, daffodil satin beaute, received the guests. Among those present were:—Mesdames H. Mc-Connell (Manurewa), T. Chapman (Paerata), M. Rutter, C. Rutter, Bid'dick, C. Once again a Wednesday match has had to ho postponed on account of weather -conditions. The -L.G.U. monthly medal, which was fixed for lliis week, will be played on Monday. Extra Scores. ■ Players who have reduced their handicaps this week are 'Mrs C. 0. Bennett 1 stroke, Miss M. Eyre 1 -stroke, Mrs R. W. Jewell 3 .strokes- Mrs A. W. Nisbet, who joined the Club this year, has earned a 32 handicap.
