BAKERS’ COMPETITION.

Entries in the bakers’ competition* which attracted competitors from all over New Zealand, were judged at the Auckland AVinter Show on Thursday, the cake section by Mr A. D. Cornes and the bread section by Alessrs J. Parkes and E. J. Watson. The judges stated that the quality of the exhibits was very high. Results were:

New Zealand Perpetual Champion Challenge Trophy, best Commercial Loaf in Show. —N. Ilorscroft (Tirau). Best Upright Tin Loaf.—J. R. Brown (Dunedin), 1, N. Ilorscroft 2, Kent’s Bakeries, 3. Best Double Upright Tin Loaf. — N. Ilorscroft i. Boniface Brothers (Palmerston' North) 2, W. A. Mackie (Epsom), 3.' Block Cakes —-Peddle Brothers (Onehunga) 1, Lane’s Bakery, Limited (Takapuna) 2, L. P. Ford (Whangarei) 3.
