BEAUTIFUL BABIES.
PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION.
SUCCESSFUL OPENING. Tlie opening of the Beautiful Baby Photographic Exhibition, held for the purpose of raising funds for the work of the Plunket Society in Hamilton and Frankton, in the cafeteria of the Great Bargain Stores, yesterday afternoon, was a most successful function. The president, Mrs A. M. Bisley, extended a welcome to members of various bodies and others present and called upon the Mayor, Mr J. R. Fow, officially to open the exhibition. Among the official party were the Mayoress (Mrs J. R. Fow), the president (Mrs A. M. Bisley), the organising secretary (Mrs N. E. Blomfleld), and the treasurer (Mrs G*. Hovey). The rooms looked delightful with Iceland poppies, jonquils in shades of gold, wattle blossom and greenery and a delicious afternoon tea was served by courtesy of Mr H. D. Caro, members of the Sonning 'Old Girls’ Association being the helpers.
The exhibition of charming photographic studies attracted much interest, and there was a large attendance. The committee were:—Mesdames J. R. Fow, 0. R. Farcer, H. Valder, E. C. Day, A. R. Brown, E. C. Sare, Allen Bell, T. J. Shaw, G. L. Mac Diarmid, A. Beale, C. 11. Holloway, C. Carryer, Osborne, A. C. Lambie, 0. S. Ellis, A. Ramsey, R. Braithwaite, F. Bridgman, G. Rees, J. F. Vercoe, Eiwart Brown, ,E. N. Miller, W. H. Whewell, G. Grylls, Adjutant Hoare, and Miss Prentis.
The helpers were:—Mesdames Wynne Gray, Lance Tompkins, Philip Harkness, F. Beehan, C. Hume, G. Bindon, H. T. Gillies, A. Meldrum, and Miss C. Hooker. Among those present were:—Mesdames A. E. Manning, S. Graham, A. H. Tompkins, G. Buckland, E. J. Bendall, A. S. Cliffe, J. Hogarth, W. R. Shattoek, A. Johns (Eureka), G. Bary, A. J. Hayward. Misses Menzies, M. G. Lowe.
