RETURNED SOLDIERS
TE AROHA ASSOCIATION. There was a large attendance or members at the annual meeting of the To Aroha Returned Soldiers’ Association on Tuesday evening. The president, Mr G. H. Nicholis, presided. The annual report stated that last year an Increase in membership from GO to oc was recorded, but since then t the number had been increased to 111. 4/At the annual conference In Wellington the Association was ably represented by the secretary, Mr Ti. McMahon, The. annual reunion held on .rffly 3 was very successful. In February last the Association had the honour of a visit Troni Sir Alexander Godley, and ho was suitably entertained at the Majestic rooms. The sale or Anzac popples bad again been' successful, the proceeds amounting to £3 1 Is 3d. Assistance had been given by tlte Association to unemployed exservicemen, and the ccmetary trustees had helped in this connection with a fairly lung period of regular work. hast year, visits Pact been paid to the To Aroha and waitoa schools, and the pupils were addressed on the slgnlllemrce or Anzac Day. This month the To Aroha West and Waiiott Schools were similarly addressed. The balance-sheet showed receipts £203 S 3 id (including amount brought forward £01) Ss Id); expenditure, £l3O iis 7d leaving a credit, being cash in bank £72 IGS Gd at March 31.
