BASKETBALL.

HAMILTON ASSOCIATION. PROSPECTS FOR NEW SEASON. At the annual meeting of the Hamilton Basketball Association held in the Y.M.C.A. lounge, the president, Mr C. L. Cato, presided over a large attendance of delegates representing 28 clubs.

In view of the fact that so many teams have signified their intention of competing this season it was reluctantly decided toy the meeting to limit the entries' to one team from each club, making the total number of competing teams 28. In view of this increased interest toeing taken in basketball it, is expected that this season will toe the most interesting experienced in Hamilton.

'l’lie eleclion of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr S. A. R. Badeley; president, Mr A. Taylor; vice-presi-dents, Messrs 0. Clevcly, R. W, Forster, J. Taylor, E. P. J. Trevcna and F; Findlay; assistant secretary, Mr T. Sounder; time-keeper and scorer Mr A. Taylor; board scorer, Mr 11. Piper.

It was decided that nominations should bo closed on May 14 and 'hat teams should forward lists of players, colours and entry fees. Tuesday, May 2 I, was chosen as the dale for the opening night, and if was resolved that each team would toe required to forward the name of a referee riot later than May 7. Considerable discussion centred around the subject or colours and new teams were allolicd their special classification colours.
