Larwood never compelled me to duck or to back a>vay.... ‘‘Nothing ever would have been heard of fast leg-theory, if perfect wickets had not been produced to make good length fast bowling innocuous.” , : ... :
Sutcliffe expressed the opinion that the new leg-before-wicket; rule will definitely end fast leg-theory, but he asks whether the i alteration does not swing the pendulum to far and give bowlers an unfair advantage'.
