FRANKTON SCHOOL GALA
SUPPORT OF PUBLIC. ATHLETIC SPORTS DECIDED. Frankton citizens were strong supporters -of a gala day held under the auspices of the Frankton Sell obi committee this afternoon. With the funds of the school benefiting, competitions and stalls were well patronised and the committee should obtain a very favourable financial result. Colourful variety was the keynoto of the parade of decorated perambulators and bicycles which attracted large entries of children. Music was supplied by the Caledonian Pipe Band and athletic sports were held during the day, handsome trophies being awarded the boys and girls obtaining the greatest points aggregate. A novel system of judging 'lor the parades and a baby show was adopted, each of the spectators being offered a voting paper on which to record their choice. The ballots had not been completed at the time of going to press. At the conclusion of the sports programme the prizes were presented by the chairman of the committee, Mr A. J. Hayward.
