The Nazis hope to secure a twothirds majority in the Legislature, thus enabling them to appeal to the League of Nations to change the Constitution.
Addressing mass meetings General Goering urged the people to vote Nazi and thus enable Danzig to be restored to Germany by proving that Danzig is German, lie added: “ Remember the Saar plebiscite.” Incidentally General Goering stated that Germany had no need to occupy Danzig by force as natural laws would impose themselves. Speaking in the Senate, Dr. Papee, Polish Minister, strongly protested against General Goering’s presence, lie said the Nazis’ election propaganda conflicted with the Polish-German pact.
