BOROUGH AFFAIRS.
MEETING OF COUNCIL. IMPROVING WATER SUPPLY. The Hamilton Borough Council’s final meeting for this year was held last evening, the Mayor, Mr J. R. Row, presiding. There were also present, Messrs 11. D. Caro, F. Best, W. A. Curteis, H. M, Hammond, E. C. Day, F. Findlay, A. J. Denz, A. M. Bishy, VV. W. Dillic-ar, C. Lafferty, T. Parker, R. McCaw, W. L. Waddel (town clerk), R. Worley (borough engineer), I. Webster (electrical engineer), and j. W. Lewis (chief inspector). On the recompicndation of the general purposes committee It was decided that the borough engineer be authorised to connoct the dead ends of |,he water supply service at Opola Road and River Road during the next financial year, as suggested, at a cost of £I 50 and the question.of installing the activated carbon system of treatment he referred to the works committee for a report. [| was also decided that the council place on record its appreciation of Ihe Mayor’s action iri arranging for Hie Grenadier Guards Band to provide a concert for the children.
