COMMISSIONER’S ASSURANCE.

NO CAUSE FOR UNEASINESS. (By Telegrapn.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. A denial that there is any cause for uneasiness about the equipment of the New Zealand police force is made by the 'Commissioner of Police, Mr W. G. Wohlmann, In reply to a telegram sent by Mr It. Holland, M.P., asking for information on the subject. This was the result of tire discussion by the Canterbury Justices of the Peace Association and recent remarks by His Honour, Mr Justice Ilerdman. .Mr Wohlmann refers particularly to the transport .facilities available for the police, and states that in Christchurch the expense of maintaining additional departmental cars would not be warranted.
