THE RUSSO CASE AGAIN. MAINTENANCE OR GAOL. , Again disbelieving his evidence that lie was practically penniless, Mr S. L. Paterson, S.M., .sentenced Domenico Richard Russo, rabbit-dealer, of Cambridge, to three months’ imprisonment in tiic Magistrate’s Court, Hamilton!, 10-day, for disobedience of orders respecting; his wife and children. The warrant is suspended so long as Russo pays current maintenance and 2s (id a week off the arrears, which amount lo £.77 in eacli case-
Russo was again subjected to a ■searching cross-\\amjnation by Mr W. J. King, who appeared for the wife, Alma Rachel Russo. Defendant admitted that lie had incurred legal expenses amounting to about £BO in the last two years, hut claimed that he had borrowed money from his brother to settle Court expenses, while one account of £2O owing to a Wellington -solicitor was unpaid, lie admitted paying another 'substantial- account to an Auckland solicitor. '
