WEDDINGS

[LYE —VERCOE. The marriage was solemnised at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, , Auckland, on Wednesday, December' 5, between Mae, third daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Vercoe, Sandringham, and Sydney Allen Dye, second son of Mr and Mrs T. Dye, of Grey ILynn. Father Holbrook officiated, and Miss Ormond was the organist. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of ivory satin, fashioned on Grecian lines, with a long wide waist girdle which fell to the ’hem 'of the skirt, the bodice having a cowl neck collar. Over the frock fell a veil of Iloniton lace, loaned by her sister, (Mrs M. J. Moodabe) caught lightly on the head with clusters of orange blossom buds. ! Her sheaf was formed of Japanese lilies. Two bridesmaids attended her, Misses Lorna Hirst and Verna Reid. Their frocks of salmon pink angelskin were made on slim'fitting lines, with high cowled necks, .the skirts cut to graduate into small fishtail trains. They wore large picture hats and carried sheaves of gladioli. Doreen Vercoe (niece of the bride) was the tralnhearer, and wore a white tulle frock, and wreath of rosebuds round her hair. Mr William Dye (groom’s brother) was best man, and' Mr William Sayegh' groomsman. The reception was held in the 'Farmers’ reception hall. The bride’s mother received the gues!ts.in a frock of chocolate brown angel skin lace, brown hat, and carried an autumn ■toned bouquet. The bridegroom’s ■mother wore mulberry crepe trimmed with biege, and hat to tone. Mrs M. J. Moodabe (bride’s sister) wore moonlight 'blue lace with picture hat of same shade. Mrs E. Seger was la ■a cameo pink frock with picture hat of the same shade.

WALKER—ALEXANDER. The wedding took place at St. George’s Church, Frankton Junction, on Saturday, December 1, 1934, of Kathleen Ann, eldest daughter of Mrs C. Alexander and the late James Alexander, to William Ralph, only son of Mrs J. M. Walker and the late Mr W. Walker. The Rev. R. J. IBoyt officiated. 1 The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her brother,_ Mr V. J. Alexander, wore a gown of ivory satin simply made, with flared skirt and tight bodice and angelskin lace yolk. Her long veil was arranged with a small wreath of orange blossoms. She carried a sheaf of Christmas lilies. The bridesmaid, Miss Mary Alexander, sister of the bride, wore a frock of pale pink crinkle crepe with hat to tone. She carried a bouquet of pale pink carnations and roses. Two flower girls, Rubie Alexander, sister of the bride, and Betty Ruckle, niece of the bridegroom, wore frocks of pale blue organdie and carried posies of sweet peas and carnations. Mr Edmund 11. Alexander was best man. Later a reception was held at the Wattle Tea Rooms, Mrs Alexander receiving her guests in a frock of floral niarocain, with coat and hat lo tone, Mrs Walker, mother of the bridegroom wearing a black and white ensemble. Both carried posies to tone with their dresses.
