PUKEATUA NOTES.

SETTLERS’ BAZAAR. The ladies who organised the settlers’ bazaar at the request of the Hall Committee in aid of the funds of the ■hall, have every reason to he prohd of the result of their efforts as the function was successful beyond expectations, from a 'financial standpoint, and the attendance must have been very gratifying to the promoters. The hall presented a very pleasing sight with its dainty and well-stock-ed stalls. So brisk was business that the goods stalls'were almost emptied before closing time. The proceeds totalled £74, the raising of such a sum in a small settlement being a worthy achievement.

The following were the stall holders: —Main stalls, Mesdames 'Soloman, Kurth and Ferguson; produce, Mesdames Crowley, H.
