LONDON, Dec. 12. 10n the resumption of the trial of Notyre (alias Manual) for the Brighton truhk murder, Doris Savllle gave evidence that Notyre concocted a story for her to tell the police that she and Notyre visited Miss 'Kaye (the deceased) at a Brighton flat, went out, returned home, and found Miss Kaye dead. Notyre informed -the police that he returned to the flat and found that Miss Kaye had been murdered- He feared to say amything. because he could not prove his innonoence. Sir Bernard Spilsbury, using a human skull, demonstrated the injuries to Kaye, whose skull was fraotured by a blunt object. Death was not due to poisoning. * (Received Dec. 14, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 13. The trial of Notyre (alias Manctoi) for 'the alleged murder of Miss Violette Kaye, whose dead body was found in a trunk at Brighton, was continued today. Notyre gave evidence on his own behalf. . He denied that be murdered Miss Violette Kay.- He explained that he hid the body because he was afraid the police would not give him a square deal,owing to previous convictions. He added: "Miss Kaye entertained men and she was continually fearful foT her life. We were affectionate and did not quarrel. When I returned home on May 10, I rang the bell without receiving a response. I .entered by a window and saw Miss Kaye dead. I could’ not bear the sight of the body so I wrapped it up in the bedclothes, and placed it in a cupboard.” Notyre denied previously seeing the hammer with which Miss Kaye was allegedly killed. He said he bought the trunk on May 14 and put the body in it. He denied -saying that lie “sloshed” Miss Kaye, also concocting the story of murder.
