TESTING FARMERS’ FLOCKS SCHEME AT MASSEY COLLEGE. GISBORNE, Friday. Following on the failure of the wool levy scheme Professor Perln -announced to-day that the Massey College, at the request of certain New Zealand breeders, has decided to test farmers’ flocks for hairyness at a small fee to cover the actual cost. Six locks will be collected from selected positions on each 'sheep, and minute reports will be made on them for hairyness and other defects. A card index system will be employed for easy reference in the event of the sale of -any animal. This is an attempt to meet the demands that purchasers shall know exactly what they are buying. -y
