OX BEEF OVER 30/- PER 100 LB. VALUES AT FRANKTON. SHEEP QUOTATIONS EASIER. Ox beef quotations showed a further marked rise at the weekly stock sale at the Frank lon yards to-day when values rose lo beyond 30s per iOOlb. The prices received were the highest obtained at Franklon for about four years. One extra prime bullock on account of Messrs Taylor Bros., Taupiri, realised £l6 ss, while two other bullocks on account of the same vendor made £l6. There was a small yarding of beef and bidding was very keen. Cow and heifer beef was penned in small numbers but no pens had been sold up to the time or going to press. There was a large yarding of all classes of sheep and although most pens were cleared quotations eased about Is Gd per head all round. An average yarding of piss again came forward and with a keener demand existing prices in this section also were exceptionally high. Thu top price £ 4 Is was also the highest secured at Franklon for four years. Quotations Beef: Extra heavy prime fat bullocks, £ls 10s to £l6 ss; medium prime fat bullocks, £!2 10s to £l4 tils; lighter prime bullocks, £8 10s lo £i 0; fat bullocks, £7 7s to £8 ss. Sheep: Extra prime wclhcrs, 27s 9d to 29s 9d; fat wethers, 25s Gd to 275; unfinished ewes, 23s lo 24s Gd; extra prime maiden ewes, 265; fat ewes, 22s Gd to 24s Gd; unfinished ewes, 16s to 21s; fa I hoggets, 18s lo 255; spring lambs. 22s ml to 30s. Pigs: Heavy prime haconers, 72s to Bis; medium prime haconers, 60s to 68s; light haconers and heavy porkers, iSs to 58s; lighter porkers, 4 0s to 4 6s.
