A TIMELY REFORM.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —The Hamilton Borough Council has an opportunity to do a great thing for Waikato, and it is hoped they will seize it. I refer to the offer to .provide a crematorium for the district, which offer was referred to a committee for a report. There is no doubt that cremation is rapidly growing in favour, and I firmly believe that in the not distant future it will, where facilities exist, be the recognised method of disposing of the dead. It is sanitary, speedy, and to me far more appealing than the old method of slow decay and absorption in the soil. I hope that the committee will carefully consider the matter from all points of view. If they do, I believe Waikato will soon possess a facility which should be provided in all of our larso centres. I am, Hamilton, September 14, 1934.
