(By Telegraph.—Press Association.? CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. The weather was bitterly cold for training work at Riccarton this morning. The outside of the course proper provided good going. Red Sun beat Southdown and Hurlingham over seven furlongs in 1.32 2-5. Fracas brought home Knock-out in 1.31 4-5 over the same ground. Top Rank ran five furlongs in 1.6 1-5.

'Limbohm and Hunting Jay were associated over six furlongs in 1.18 3-5. Impossible beat Wino over five furlongs in 1.5 2-5. Red Dance and Cleaner were together at the conclusion of seven furlongs in 1.33 3-5. ■Copyist ran half-a-mile along the back in 51 3-ss.

.Pleasant Memory and Streamline slipped over half-a-mile in 54 4-ss.

Hostile was associated with Sea Fox over six furlongs in 1.20 3-5. ■Pahu was on terms with Royal Limond at the finish of a mile in 1.51.

Knocklong beat Dismiss over a smart half-mile in 49 4-ss.

Horowhenua had Wee Musk as a companion over five furlongs in 1.6. 3-5, Cranford doing a similar trip in 1.7.

Starshooter, Night Parade and Fleeting Glance got to the end of six furlongs in 1.23 2-5.

Scratchmera Scar Beats Argentic. Scratchmere Scar (light weight) 'beat Argentic over seven furlongs in 1.33.

Arcade did useful work with a sprint down the straight.

Ventrao and Giggleswick galloped six furlongs in 1.20 1-5.

Grampian and Polygram ran half-a-mile in 53 3-ss, Tea Garden and Master Reynard doing the same distance in 535.

Moonbeam and First Course ran five furlongs in 1.5 2-5. Valpeen and Willog Wigen beat Snowy Dawn over a mile in 1.54 1-5. Cargen and Tout Le Monde beat Free Air over nine furlongs, the last mile ocupying 1.51 1-5. Princess Doreen hit out over a mile in 1.44 3-5.

Knockfln beat Ranelagh over seven furlongs in 1.34 1-5. Vintage negotiated six furlongs in 1.20.

Some Shamble beat Silver Sight and Niggerhead over seven furlongs in 1.35 4-5.

Polydora and Cottingham ran six furlongs in 1.21, Monastic and Lycidas taking 1.25. Dollar Prince beat Balia Rosa and Sibella at the finish of .seven furlongs in 1.36.

Silver Foil broke away in front of Silver Step, who ran five furlongs in 1.7 1-5.

Colosslan Over Six. Colossian beat First View and Cheap Money throughout six furlongs in 1.22 1- Lowater and Mawha doing the same time. Rose of Tralee ran five' furlongs in 1.8. Elgindale ail'd Vocal hit out easily over seven furlongs in 1.38 4-5. Travenna and Branhard ran live furlongs in 1.7. Friday Night beat Invoice over five furlongs in 1.0. Davolo with the assistance of Gold Cross negotiated seven furlongs easily in 1.35 3-5. Golden Dart ran five furlongs in 1.7 2Jaloux and Rebel Chief beat Arrow in a six furlong trial which occupied 1.21. Great Star beat Motunan over half-a-mile in 51 2-ss. Grand Review and the Silverado filly hit out over six furlongs in 1.26. Thurina did useful pace work on the sand, moving freely. Billy Boy did strong work as also did a number of other horses.

Over Hurdles. Constant Sun jumped five hurdles well.

Royal Lineage was in front of Hounslow after jumping eight hurdles, the pair going together all the way at a sound pace though not at top. Currajong went once round over the steeplechase fences in tiie middle. Tenlcall started with him but lost her rider through stumbling after leading over the first fence. She afterwards completed' the circuit alone. Quinopal did useful pace work, being stiff and sore after his full on the previous day.

Don Jose Destroyed. Don Jose injured a fetlock and shoulder when he fell on Wednesday and was destroyed. Northern arrivals include Cunalong, Constant Sun, Stanchion, Bay Tree, Curie, Emotion and Passion Fruit.
