The inaugural meeting of the W cllinglon Film Institute, a society which has been funned for the purpose ot encouraging good inution pictures, wdl lie held next week. The organisation is planned to follow the lines ot the I British Film Institute, which is sn.d I to he exerting an inercaslnbly beneficial inlluen.ee on linns. A constitution has been drawn up in which the objects of the institute are set out in net-ail as follows:- — ! To influence public opinion to demand and appreciate films which, as . entertainment, are really good of their i kind, or which have more then entcr- ! lainment value, by »'ic'i means of the ' following: (a) By : "ranging tor perij odie addresses and discussions on j matters relating to the films; (b) by the use of the daily press, articles in 1 periodical magazines, interviews, etc.; | (c) by encouraging its members lo I report on films which they have seen. ! To study and promote the developi incut oi’ the Him in education and cut- ! *urc- | To act as a means of liaison bctween, the film industry and cultural interests, educators, and the general public.
