Easleriirook’s final round of 68 equalled tho record, which Brown, tlie Irish champion established in the third round. The committee declined to take action in connection with Kirkwood's allegations, expressing the opinion Dial there is no ground for the complaint.
KIRKWOOD’S ACCUSATION. RESENTED BY UNION. LONDON, July 19. Officials of Hie Irish Golfing Union strongly resent Kirkwood’s accusation that a steward of the union interfered willi his play by treading twice on his ball. Mr Fitzsimmons, secretary of llie Championships Committee. says il was a grave reflection oil Hie sportsmanship of Irish golfers. The committee had investigated llie matter and was satisfied there was no foundation for the accusation. Kirkwood replied: “I think the officials owe me an apology. I will never again play in the Irish championship.”
