VERY BIG LIST OF SALES

Business livened up perceptibly yesterday afternoon, and at the last call an unusually big list' of sales was recorded. A fresh lot was added at the first cal*! this morning, and altogether the turnover over the last 24 hours must have been heavy. The business covered a wide area, with Government stocks getting a fair share of the business. South British touched a new high level tills morning, with a sale at £3 17s 3d, but a subsequent transaction was threepence lower. There was a healthy tone manifest in the latest bidding, with most sections strong at late valuations. The Noon Call. At the noon call firmness was disclosed In Commercial Banks, which changed hands at 17s 3d. Farmers’ Auctioneering “B" preference shares were offered 6d lower at 19s 6d. Goidsbrough-Morts. firmed up, with buyers at £1 12s. A parcel of Tooth's Breweries was offering at £2 2s 3d. Dominion Fertilisers were in good demand. After a sale at- l- 5 s 3d, a rise of nearly -is in a month, there were still buyers in at 17s (id. other transactions completed were; W'aihl, 20s lid. Bank of Now South Wales, £32 6s.
