PROPOSED AMALGAMATION. ATTITUDE OF WELLINGTON. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WE L LIN G TON, Mo nay. “It appears to me that the North Island Motor Union lias ceased to function in ils right way," said "'the chairman of the Wellington Automobile Association, Mr E. A. Batt, at a meeting of the association to-night. “The whole thing has been badly handled. I do not think there is any hope of any withdrawal on (lie part of Auckland, and it is up to Wellington and the other associations lo form one New Zealand association.” A circular Idler from the Auckland Association outlining a scheme of amalgamation of other clubs was received. It was decided to reply that the points raised In the circular were such that they should come direct from the North Island Motor Union, and not from an association. That being so, the Wellington Club was unable to consider the matter in any way.. The executive decided not to support the hotel and camp site booklet, which was stated to be obviously the work of the Auckland Association and not that of the North Island Motor Union, but to print its own guide.
