A WEAKENMMQ TENDENCY.
BUYERS HOLDING OFF. The produce market in London shows a weakening tendency for butter and cheese, New Zealand finest butter now being quoted at 104 s. Buyers are reported to be holding off. Merchants have beeii advised as under: — Mr C. R. Spragg, from Bannatyne and Company, Limited, Liverpool, dated September 30. —Buyers are holding off; both markets are weakening. New Zealand finest butter now 104 s; first grade, 101 s to 102 s. Whits and coloured cheese now level at 525. A. H. Turnbull and Company, Ltd., from W. Weddel and Company. Ltd. — Butter: Danish, 114 s; New' Zealand, salted, 102 s to 106 s; Australian, 104 s to 106 s. The market is slow. New Zealand salted is now offered at 104 s. Cheese.—New Zealand, white and coloured, 52s to 535. The market is quiet. New Zealand Producers’ Co-opera-tive Alarketing Association, Ltd. —• Butter: New Zealand, finest, 104 s to 105 s; Danish, 114 s. Cheese: White and coloured, 52s to 535. Butter is steady. Cheese is dull.
