OBITUARY.
FUR HERBERT HENSON. The death occurred yesterday of Mr Herbert Henson, of Te Rapa, aged 73 years. Born in Leicestershire, England, the late Mr Henson arrived at Wellington 51 years ago. Later he removed to the Manawatu and afterwards to the Waikato, where he had resided for IS years. During the whole of his time In New Zealand Mr Henson followed farming pursuits. Mr Henson is survived by his wife and five children, Messrs H. Henson, Wanganui, G. Henson, Te Awamutu, L. Henson, New Plymouth, and Mesdames W. B. Laxon, Whatawhata, and R. Limm.gr, Te Kowhai. There are 11 grand-children. MR W. HAYES. WHANGAREI, Monday. The death occurred to-day of Mr William Hayes, aged 81 years, one of the oldest white men born in the North. DR. W. H. PARKES. DISTINGUISHED WAR SERVICE. (By Telegraph—rress Association.) AUCKLAND, Tuesday. The death has occurred of Dr. W. 11. Parkes, C.M.G. Deceased was commander of the New Zealand General Hospital In Egypt in 1915, and director of medical services to tlie New Zealand Expeditionary Force in London, 1910-18. He was aged 09 years.

The death is announced of Francis Sissom, aged 02, the vice-president of the Guaranty Trust Company, New York, and a former president of the American Bankers’ Association. Deceased was one of the leading opponents of President Roosevelt's banking programme, particularly the clause gauranteelng bank deposits.
