The local board has also a remit asking the Public Works’ electrical engineers to expedite experiments on water heating for milking sheds. The lengthy dispute between the board and the Borough Council over the charges for street lighting has come to an end by the board agreeing to grant a reduction of 5s per lamp (£3 to £2 15s) per annum, the council to maintain Its service at 78 lamps. It was decided to apply to the Loans' Board for permission to raise a loan of £2OO. The chairman said that while It had yet to be confirmed, the Power Board hadi, agreed to a reduction of 5s per antfum' on street lamps. Tbe reduction would apply to Leamington. It was decided to make a donation of £5 to the Cambridge Municipal Band. Tbe rates, as struck at tbe last meeting, were confirmed. The Valuer-General wrote advising that he could not consider a revalutlort of the town district at present. The application would be rurther considered next year. THE DOMAIN BOARD, The same members sat as a meeting of! the Domain Board. The hoard rescinded a previous resolution agreeing to exchange three sections in Burns Street for the site, occupied by the Cambridge Dairy Com-1 pany’s Leamington factory. A further resolution was carried, arter a rather animated discussion, that the board would be prepared to exchange the factory site for three sections In Burns Street, Including the corner section on Lamb Street. DAIRY PAY-OUTB. THE CAMBRIDGE COMPANY. The Cambridge Co-operative Dairy Company will make an advance on August supply at the rate or 9d lb. butterfal supplied for butter and 9d lb. butterfal supplied ror cheese.
