MORRINSVILLE STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report having held their fortnightly stook sale in the Morrlnsville yards on Friday, when a full yarding of mostly fat sheep was penned. Fat ewes remained firm at late rates with a keen demand for fat hoggets at advanced rates. Cattle: A full yarding of ox beef came forward, including well fln-r Ished cattle, with quotations remaining firm at late rates. A truck on account of Messrs. McDonald Bros., Kiwitahi, averaged £7 ss. Cow and heifer beef of exceptionally good quality was penned in heavy numbers, with quotations remaining Arm at late rates. Ten Hereford cows sold on account of Mr. Thos. Smith, Kiwitahi, realised £4 19s; 12 Polled Angus cows on account of Messrs. Thomas Bros., £4 Is; 10 cows and heifers on account of Mr. H. Watson, Walton, £4 7s 6d; 9 Polled Angus cows on account of Messrs. Howie Bros., £4 9s. Second quality also remained Arm at unchanged rates. The advertised entry of cattle ex the East Coast came forward in good condition and attracted spirited bidding with prices in excess of late sales. A special entry of yearling Jersey heifers on account of Mr. Geo. Were, Motumaoho, were an exceptionally choice lot, and are without doubt the' best heifers offered in Waikato for some considerable time. These attracted favourable comment from the public, and sold under spirited competition, the line of 28 averaging £4 12s 6d, and were purchased by Messrs. Woodward and McGechie, Te Awamutu. A full yarding of other Jersey heifers also found a ready sale at advanced rates. Dairy Cattle: A good yarding of dairy cattle came forward and sold readily at late quotations. The advertised herd on account of Mrs. M. A. Matthews averaged £5 10s. Calved heifers were keenly sought after, a line sold on account of Mr. G. Smith bringing up to £B. pigs: A good yarding of pigs met with keen competition on all classes, prices' showing 4s to 5s per head increase on last sale’s quotations. Prime quality baconers are now keenly sought after.
