DROWNED IN A BARREL. ; LITTLE GIRL’S DEATH. (By Telegranji.- -Press Association.) WAIPUKURAU, Monday, Yesterday morning an infant girl 18-mOnths old, Noellne Freda Price, was found drowned at the back of the home of her parents,’ Mr, and Mrs. George Price, in half an oil barrel containing 10 inches of 'water. The child evidently had overbalanced and fallen into the water while at play. Artificial respiration was unavailing. At the‘inquest a verdict of accidental death by drowning, was returned. r - ! v , ' . I. —r, , —• FOOTBALLERS INJURED. . <. AUCKLAND, Saturday; .Three footballers were admitted to the hospital to-day as,a result of accidents on the field. The injured men are Messrs 'Baxter and Brown, Loth Qf whom are suffering from concussion; and Arknell, who received a fractured left humerus. In the senior B match at Pukekohe to-day “Scotty" Kara, of Manurewa, a member of tbe ManukaU team, fractured his leg belojv the knee, MISHAP AT QAMBRIPOE. ' t , '. J ' 1J T Hector Richmond, ged 18, playing fullback for Leamington seniors agpinst Hautapu on Saturday broke •two bones in his leg at the ankle, .He and an opposing back both kicked at the ball, Richmond receiving a blow on the ankle. The St. John Ambulance ofiloers attended the injured man and he . was later conveyed to the Waikato Hospital.
