Quotations given represent the average for the week, and are not selected lines, but for parcels fairly representative of the bulk of shipments cow on offer. IMPROVED MARKET. The Dank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its London ofilcc, as a l close of business last week: —Wethers: There is a steady trade at rather better values. Ewes: There is a better inquiry and Ihe outlook is brighter, Lambs: Trade is belter and values are improving. Prices: Wethers, light, 3 5-8 dto 5d per lb.; heavy, 3d to 3 3-Sd; ewes, 2id to 3 3-8 d; lambs, twos, G 3-8 d to G 7-Sd; eights, G 3-8 dto G3d; fours, Gd to Gid; seconds, 53d to 63d. The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board lias received the following market report from its London ofilcc, dated August 4: —Lamb: Firm with slightly better prices. Consumption continues good. Mutton: Wethers firm with good trade. Ewes also meeting with better demand. Beef: Continues to be depressed on account of over-supplies. New 'Zealand Porkers: Very little business doing owing to hot weather. New Zealand bacon<ars: Trade is slow.
