FURTHER CONVERSION. MR S. M. BRUCE’S SUCCESS. CANBERRA, August i. In view of Hie success of the recent conversion loan in London it is expected that the Commonwealth Government will take steps this month to convert, the remaining £15,000,000 of G per cent, stocks. These arc Commonwealth optional securities, and this will lie the first operation directly on behalf of tho Commonwealth. Since Mr S. M. Bruce look up his duties in London as Resident Minister,, lie has effected conversions which have saved the Slates £ 1,066,008 In interest payments and exchange.
