The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile report: At our weekly Westfield fat stock market beef was penned in average numbers. Competition was steady with values on last Wednesday’s level. Extra choice ox sold to 2is per 100 !b.,'choice and prime, 17s'to 20s; secondary and plain, 14s to 16s; prime young cow and heifer beef, 16s to 20s; secondary, 12s to 15s. Exjra heavy prime steers ranged, from £8 5s to £9 12s 6d; heavy, £7 2s 6d to £8 2s 6d; lighter, £6 to £7; light, £4 15s to £5 15s; small and unfinished, £2 15s to £4 10s; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £5 7s 6d to £6; heavy, £4 12s 6d, to £5 ,ss; lighter, £3 15s to £4 10s; light, £2 15s to £3 12s 6d"; others, 30s to 50s.
