LONDON'S TUBE RAILWAY. OPENED TO COCKFOSTERS, £5,000,000 JOB FINISHED. (Offloial Wireless.) (Received Aug. 1, 11.45 a.m.) , RUGBY, July 31. The last seotlon of the tube railwaj extension from South Harrow to Cookfosters was opened to the public today. This railway is now 25 miles long and is the longest underground line in the world. The new addition just completed cost about £5,000,000. On some sections the speed attained is three milea in five minutes. Gookfosters was formerly a rural beauty spot, but housing estates have increased rapidly in numbers during reoent years, and It is estimated the population in the neighbourhood will increase by 50,000 in the next few years..
