MOTOR ROAD RACES
RESULTS AT ORAKEI. AUCKLAND, Monday. A series of motor races held on a road circuit at Orakei attracted a crowd of about 4000 people. The meeting, which was organised in connection With Prosperity Week resulted in about £l7O being collected to further the campaign of the Transport Queen, Miss Adcle Hogan. Results were:— Adcle Stakes, 3 laps, racing cars.— G. A. Mathieson (Miller), 15s, 1; A. Denison (Singer), 30s, 2; G. Smith (Roosevelt), 12s, 3. Time, 6m 9 4-ss. Transport Championship, 3 laps, for motor-cycles.—l). Bray (Budge), 1 • L. Perry (Vclocette), 2; A. McLaren (New Imperial), 3. Time, Gni 17 J-ss, Acceleration and Braking 'Pests.—• Open class: 11. M. Grierson (Austin), 16.785. Under 10 horse-power: S. N. Sparks (Riley), 19.475. A novelty event, In which Captain ,1. I), llcwett look part in his Moth aeroplane, concluded an enjoyable afternoon’s sport.
