HAMILTON PLAYBOX
NEW ZEALAND PLAYB. The evening devoted to readings of New Zealand plays at the Hamilton Playbox on Thursday night was most successful, all the players aoqultting themselves well, and several giving performances of emotional parts that greatly impressed the audience. Two one-aot plays by Mrs Violet Targuse, of Timaru, were given. “Fear,” a tense little drama was done by Mrs C. Linder, Mr RusaellWood, Miss Gifford and Mr Aleo Herbert. “Rabbits,” by the same author, is a poignant little play and received artistio treatment from Mrs Maloolm Thomas, Mrs Clive Henry, Mr Ernest Marsh and Master Lloyd Nisbet. Perhaps the most intense play was “Reunion," by John Dean, in which Mrs Thomas gave a telling interpretation of a doting old mother, upon whose’ son a death sentence had been pronounced.
