CONCERT AND DANCE
AT MATAN'GI. A very jolly evening was spent by a large crowd who attended the second concert anri dance given by ihe Maoris of the Matangi Pa, in aid of their new meeting bouse. The “Te liioliana” Maori string band supplied excellent music. Exlras were played by Miss E. Nielsen. Miss M. Pretty, Mrs Nielsen and Mi' Dcvcry. Humorous •songs were rendered by Messrs. Tui and Wotere, .1. Dcvcry and J. Wotere. The hula dance was danced gracefully by 1 i 111 e Miss Koinaki.
A Monte Carlo was won by Mrs Thompson and Mr Whaka: a spot waltz was won by Miss T. Robinson and Mr ,J. Woierc. An excellent slipper was •served by a commitloe of ladies.
