ELECTION OF OFFICERS.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Saturday.

The annual meeting of the New Zealand Workers’ Union was concluded last evening. The following constitute the National Executive Council for the year 1933-34: — President, Mr C. E. • Baldwin, Christchurch; vice-president, Mr J. Townsend, Wanganui; general secretary, Mr A. Cook, Wellington; members’, Messrs Middlemiss, Gore; Leckie, Timaru; Little, Waitaki; Neville, Christchurch; Hamilton, Christchurch; McLennan, Marlborough; Gavin, Tawa Flat; Maynard, Gisborne; Munro, Forell; Clark, Wellington. It was decid'ed to undertake an- extensive organising campaign amongst rural workers and public works employees in order to prepare workers to vigorously resist further wage cuts and worsening of working conditions. A unanimous resolution calling on the Government to disband the Unemployment Board immediately, was carried and the union was instructed not to co-operate with the hoard as at present constituted. The Nazi rule in-germany was discussed and it was that New Zealand workers refrain, from purchasing any goods offered for sale in this country that are manufactured in Germany.

A resolution thanking the New Zealand Alliance of Labour for assistance rendered during the past year and expressing full confidence in that body, was carried unanimously.
