Card Afternoon. Mrs Calder had a happy little party at her home on Wednesday afternoon in aid of Anglican funds. She was assisted by Mrs R. Calder and Misses Rothwell. Large bowls of red berries and violets,, with. a. beautiful log fire made the drawing very attractive. Mrs J. Higglnson was the winner of the euchre,. while Mrs Carpenter was presented with. the consolation prize. Two very pretty pianoforte solos were played by Mrs A. Livingstone and Mrs Friedlander. .
Mrs Calder received her guests in a frock of navy blue celanese. Those present were: Mrs R. Calder, Mrs J. Higginson, Mrs Livingstone, Mrs Carpenter, Mrs Snell, Mrs Petley, Mrs Friedlander, Mrs McCutcheon, Mrs 11. Johnston, Mrs Mrs Rowe, Mrs Drawer, Mrs S. Russell, Mrs Ferguson, Miss Blackett, Miss E. J. Rothwell, Miss E. M. Rothwell, and Master Rex Calder. / Pong. A ping-pong practice was held at the home of Mrs and Mrs G. Petley on Wednesday evening. Games were evenly contested- Players are looking forward to a visit to Te Rore to meet their players on Saturday evening next.
